Glenn William Moore

Glenn William Moore, 88, of Sour Lake, died Monday, November 19, 2012, at Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation, Beaumont. He was born on February 21, 1924, to Elizabeth and Glenn C. Moore, in Morgantown, West Virginia. Mr. Moore was married for forty-eight years to Charmaine Moore. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was in the First Wave at Normandy Beach and Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Moore was employed as a manager at Borg Warner for over thirty years. While in the service, Mr. Moore had to travel to Munich, Germany, for military business. After business, he took a walk along the river and came upon a USO Club. He heard singing and decided to stop in and listen to several songs. Ten years later, Mr. Moore went to the Cork Club in Houston with business associates. One business associate recognized a woman he knew to be a singer and asked her to sing. Mr. Moore danced with this same woman and in the course of conversation, he discovered that she was the same woman he had stopped and listened to in Munich ten years before. Mr. Moore is survived by his son, Barry Moore of Sour Lake. He is preceded in death by his wife, Charmaine Moore. A gathering of Mr. Moore's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 23, 2012, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
