Jackie Baker Arnold, 92, of Groves passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Magnolia Manor in Groves, Texas. She was born on June 30, 1920 in Groveton, Texas to Dave and Leila Hinson Baker. Jackie graduated from Chester High School in 1937. Jackie had lived in Groves for over 64 years and had been a member of First Baptist Church of Groves since 1948. She was a member of the Ledia Class at FBCG, the Sonshine Choir, Quilters at FBCG, Red Hat Society and the Groves-Port Arthur Order of Eastern Star, Chapter # 953. Jackie was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was deeply committed to her faith and her Lord. She was a inspiration to all of her family as well as her church family. Jackie also loved her PNG Indian football and was a devoted fan. She never wanted to miss a pep rally or game on Friday night. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Groves with Dr. Joe Worley and Reverend Charles Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Buddie Arnold, parents, Dave and Leila Baker, daughter, Judith Crutcher, great grandson, Jason Lynn Williams, sisters, Georgie Walsh, Jimmie Settle, Flickie Grady, and Punkie Williamson, and her brother, Dave Baker. She is survived by her two daughters, June Arnold of Groves, and Gwen Rozelle and husband, Terry of Port Neches, son-in-law, Tom Crutcher of Kingwood, sisters, Billie Kenesson of Mesquite, Bettye Platt of Lufkin, and Dorothy Lovett of Beaumont, four grandchildren, Jeff Williams and wife, Lori of Manvel, Jana Williams of Houston, Chad Rozelle of The Woodlands, and Leigh Rozelle of Houston, five great grandchildren, Ryan Williams and wife, Meisha of Kingwood, Ashleigh Williams of Kingwood, Trevor Williams and wife, Stephanie of Anchorage, Alaska, Braeden Williams of Manvel, and Kailyn McIllhone of Manvel, and great- great grandchildren, Reece Williams, Jason Williams, and Haidynn Williams of Kingwood. The family would like to thank Lela Parrish,Altus Hospice and Magnolia Manor for their special care and compassion , and loving friends Verlea Hinson, Marie Harris and Judy Lyons. Pallbearers will be Ray Lovett, Steve Platt, Gene Arnold, D.P. Lyons, George Smith, Bart Bragg, and John Bass. Honorary Pallbearers will be Benny Todd, Leo Hebert and Herky McCutcheon.
