Jeanne Anderson Copp was born February 7, 1922 to Edith and Andrew Anderson in Hudson, NY. She passed away May 24, 2013 in Boise, ID. She was preceded in death by her husband Stirling and son Danny Copp. Jeanne completed her undergraduate education at Beloit College
in Beloit, WI, where she was awarded a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Sociology. She completed a Master of Arts in History at Lamar University in Beaumont TX. Jeanne spent her childhood in Saugus, MA and met her husband, Stirling, through his sister. Jeanne and Stirling married on Dec 30, 1944 in Alabama where Stirling was stationed with the Army Air Corps. Upon his discharge from active duty, they moved to Vermont. After suffering through a winter of 60 degree below zero temperatures, they vowed to head south until two conditions were met: warm weather and employment. They found both in Beaumont, TX, where Jeanne and Stirling settled and raised a family. Jeanne worked for the YWCA and Goodwill Industries. After retirement, she spent her time divided between visiting her family and traveling to such exotic places as China, Tahiti, Bali, South America, Europe and going on various cruises, which she loved. When not traveling, she volunteered at the libraries of local schools. Jeanne is survived by her daughters Linda (Ray) Stark, Judy (Ed) Lonsdale and Gretchen Neel. Her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Mama Jeanne are Matthew and Elizabeth Lonsdale, Kelsey (Rylon) Hofacer and Monica Neel. Memorial services were held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Boise on Monday, May 27, 2013 with interment planned in Beaumont this November. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Beloit College, Beloit WI.
