Juanita C. Stacy

Juanita C. Stacy, age 91,of Devers, Texas, passed away January 15, 2013 in Gainesville, TX after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Allison Funeral Service 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas,with David Cross officiating. Interment will follow in Stacy Memorial Cemetery in Devers. Visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Allison Funeral Service. Juanita Claude Stacy was born August 29, 1921 in Call, Texas to parents, James Franklin Claude and Lily Viola Thurman Claude. She grew up in Jasper, Texas the ninth of ten children. She graduated from Jasper High School and shortly after graduation, went to live and care for her oldest and ailing sister and her sister's Methodist minister husband. They soon moved to Devers where she met and married Ernie Theodore Stacy (a life-long resident of Devers) June 1, 1941. She had the first, of three children, Ernie Alan Stacy in 1942 and they lived between Devers and Jasper while Ernie served in WWII. At the end of the war they built the first part of the home they shared from 1945 to 1987. They enlarged the home in 1957 to its current state. Gary Michael Stacy was born in 1947 and Cathy Anne Stacy arrived in 1952. Juanita worked from home as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother all of her life. She cared for her mother-in-law and father-in-law in their failing health and for all her family in their times of need. She has always been a woman of great faith, courage, and strength, and has been a member of the Devers Methodist Church since 1941. Her family and friends were precious to her, and she set the highest example of love, strength, and faith to us all. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and two sons. Mrs. Stacy is survived by one daughter, Cathy Stacy Tucker and son-in-law Dr. Tommy Tucker of Aubrey; four grandsons, William Tucker and wife Heidi of Kyle, TX; Andrew Tucker and wife Jennifer of Centerton, AR; Stacy Tucker and wife Mandy of Granbury, TX; Shawn Stacy and wife Angela.
