Louise Marie LeBlanc Dauphine

Louise Marie LeBlanc Dauphine, 77, of Nederland, Texas, passed away on December 12, 2012, at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston with her family by her side. Louise was born in Port Arthur, Texas, to Etienne Joseph and Edia Marie LeBlanc on May 8, 1935. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1954. She married the love of her life, Gerald John Dauphine, on March 2, 1957. Being married to him brought her great joy and into the close knit Dauphine family who remained dear to her. After seventeen years of marriage, they were blessed with their only child, Geri Elizabeth, on November 18, 1974. After the sudden death of Gerald in 1980, Louise devoted herself to raising her pride and joy, Geri. She was a fun loving, energetic mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She loved Cajun music, the Astros, bowling, football, playing cards, and being a member of the St. Charles ACTS community. She demonstrated her strong faith in God by loving her family and friends and by serving her church. And, the absolute light of her life for the last nineteen months was her grandson, Grayson Gerald, and the anticipation of her second grandson this February, brought her even more happiness. Her parents, Etienne and Edia LeBlanc; husband, Gerald Dauphine; brothers, E.J. LeBlanc, Jr. and Louis LeBlanc; and nephew, Stephen LeBlanc preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Geri Hotchkiss and her husband, Jason, of Nederland; and grandson, Grayson. She is also survived by a brother-in-law; many sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A gathering of Mrs. Dauphine's family and friends will be Sunday evening, December 16, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 17, 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with Monsignor Dan Malain officiating.
