Marjorie F. Savoy

Marjorie F. Savoy, 90, of Beaumont, died Thursday, October 4, 2012. She was born on August 9, 1922, in Hemphill, to Benena and Norman Ener, and had been a resident of Beaumont for over seventy-two years. Marjorie worked as a secretary for Dr. Olcutt at Lamar Tech and retired from American Rice Growers. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Bridges and her husband, James and Patricia Lackey, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, James M. Bridges, Joanna Alford, Linda Crosby, and Karen Lackey. Marjorie was blessed with great-grandchildren, Caroline and Grace Bridges, and Rebecca Alford; brother, Norman W. Ener, Jr.; sister, Maurine Behrens; and many nieces and nephews. Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Nelwyn Meredith and her husband, Joe E. Savoy. She died peacefully at home under the care of New Century Hospice. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her nurses and caregivers at Century Hospice. A gathering of Mrs. Savoy's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2012, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Broussard's, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
