Nona Karr Henley

Funeral services for Nona Karr Henley, 98, of Jasper will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday January 26, 2013 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, with graveside service to be 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday 26, 2013, at the funeral home. Born October 3, 1914 in Newton County, TX to Lee and Nancie Dubose Karr. At an early age her parents moved to San Augustine County, TX where she grew up and married Drewey Henley. In 1941 she and her husband moved to Beaumont, TX where she lived until 1998 moving to Jasper, TX. During World War II she worked for several years at Kinsel Motors as an accountant clerk. She later worked at Beaumont Housing Authority and retired from there in 1976 as Project Manager. She was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church in Beaumont until she moved to Jasper where she became a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother. Survivors include her son Clinton Henley and wife Janice; two grandchildren Becky and husband Tim O'Dell of Eden, Utah, grandson Steve Henley of Lumberton, TX; three great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren, one sister Fay Mika and several nieces and nephews. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
