Irene Rosalie Fisher Womack died on December 12, 2012 in Kerrville, Texas after valiantly battling cancer for eight years. She was born November 23, 1938 to Ella Real Fisher and Felix Franklin Fisher in Kerrville, Texas. She married William Mark Womack on August 29, 1959 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Kerrville. She graduated from Tivy High School where she was a participant in many activities such as band and twirling. She attended Trinity University on a twirling scholarship and graduated from Southwest Texas State College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. Irene had varied interests and honors. She was elected Rodeo Queen by the Kerrville Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1956. She was also Kerr County Representative to the Miss Mohair Pageant as well as representing Kerr County at its centennial. A talented seamstress, she sewed elaborate ball gowns and wedding dresses for her daughters. A life-long Episcopalian, she served on altar guilds, Episcopal Church Women's Boards, and a vestry, for several churches. The family lived in Galveston, Dallas, Oklahoma City and Beaumont before retiring back to Kerrville. She enjoyed playing tennis and won several awards. The special love and joy of her life was playing board games with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Irene is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill, and her four daughters and their families. Her daughters are Laurie Blewett and husband Jason of Hunt, Suzanne Nicks and husband Mikel of Cypress, Victoria Styles and husband Danny of Boerne, and Amy Richards and husband Russell of Dallas. Her grandchildren are Kaylee, Manie Jo, and Addie Blewett; Julianna, Blake, and Meredith Nicks; Taylor and Devin Styles; William and Walker Rose Richards. Also surviving are her sister Felecia Fisher Dobbs and husband Charlie, and her brother, Johnny Fisher and wife Rita. Numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends mourn her passing. Visitation will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapel on Sunday, December 16, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 17, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Kerrville with Father Stockton Williams officiating, assisted by Father Tom Murray.
