Rose Ann Fertitta

Rose Ann Fertitta, 81, of Beaumont, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at Calder Woods, Beaumont. A lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on April 22, 1931, to Concetta Glorioso Fertitta and Tom A. Fertitta. She attended Catholic schools in Beaumont and Galveston graduating from St. Anthony High School in 1948. It was there that she met the love of her life, Charles J. Fertitta Jr. They were married in 1951 and were subsequently blessed with the births of four daughters. Rose Ann is survived by her daughters, Jo Lynne Morgan and her husband, Montie, of Beaumont; Liz Fertitta of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Rosanne Fertitta of Houston; grandchildren, Charles Morgan and his wife, Jessica, of Menlo Park, California; and Marie Fertitta-Walker of Houston; sisters, Betty Kubala and her husband, Mark, of Beaumont; Sharon Fertitta and her spouse, Aileen Friedman, of Milford, Connecticut; brother, Anthony Fertitta and his wife, Mary, of Dallas; sisters-in-law, Nancy Fertitta; Olivia Serio; and Charlene Busceme and her husband, Carlo, all of Beaumont; and Sister Jo Rita Fertitta of Houston; nieces, Ann Kubala; Jo Annette Fertitta; and Jo Rita Lyle and her husband, Steve, all of Beaumont; Alyssa Ausbrook and her husband, Jeff, of Dallas; nephews, Tom Kubala; Mark Kubala and his wife, Carrie; and Dan Kubala and his wife Mary, all of Austin; Anthony Fertitta and his wife, Catherine, of Charlotte, North Carolina; Bryan Fertitta of Dallas; Charles G. Fertitta and his wife, Phyllis, of Houston; Joseph Fertitta and his wife, Sandy; Donald Fertitta; Carlo Busceme III; Anthony Busceme Sr. and his wife, Karie; and Gregory Busceme and his wife, Sheila, all of Beaumont; and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles J. Fertitta, Jr.; and infant daughter, Mary Fertitta. Her daily life was filled with caring for her husband, her three daughters, and helping her husband run the family business of Fertitta Washateria's. Any waking hours remaining were spent in caring for and helping others. She was selfless, caring and generous to a fault. The family wishes to acknowledge and extend sincere appreciation to those caregivers who provided not only excellent personal care, but loving devotion as well. Those caregivers over the period of her illness were Sarah Ignacio, Brenda Batiste, Libby Taylor, and Earth Angels, Buckner Hospice, the staff of Calder Woods, and her lifelong friends and companions, Catherine Teeny Zoch, and Addie Mae Hines. A debt of gratitude is owed to Vincent Allen for his many years of dedicated service and labor helping take care of her home and travel needs. A gathering of Mrs. Fertitta's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Chaplet of The Devine Mercy recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
