Russell Wendell Davis

Russell Wendell Scooter Davis, 59, of Beaumont, went to his final resting place on Monday, July 22, 2013, at Harbor Hospital of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Russell was born on April 21, 1954, to Freddie L. James Williams and B.B. Davis, Sr. He was a 1972 graduate of Charlton Pollard High School where he played the cymbals and bass drums in the school band. Russell served in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 through 1974. After retirement, Russell worked as a part time driver for Sun Travel until he was called home to glory. He enjoyed biking, boating, and had a great sense of humor. Russell was an active member of the Golden Eagles Motorcycle Club where he was the acting navigator for many of his club members. Survivors include his mother, Freddie Lee Williams; son, Russell Barnes and his wife, Kenesha; daughters, Bishell Appu and her husband, Donald and Ericka Owens; brothers, Charles Seals and his wife, Beverly; twin brother, Ronnie Davis and his wife, Talsha; B.B. Davis, Jr. and his wife, Silvania; and Larry Davis and his wife, Mildred; sisters, Faye Seals, Lillie Edwards, and Patsy Miller; aunt, Carrie Dobbins; special significant other, Gale Lister; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, B.B. Davis, Sr. A gathering of Mr. Davis' family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m., with a celebration of his life to follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
