Services for Alice Spacek, 77 of Elkhart, will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, in the First Baptist Church of Elkhart, with Rev. Bill Gernenz officiating, with Pastors Wayne Frazier and Lynn Wilhite assisting. Burial will be in Starr Cemetery. Mrs. Spacek died Saturday, at True Care of Palestine. She was born August 27, 1934, at Elkhart to George Norman Miller and Flora Starr Miller. Mrs. Spacek was a retired teacher and a licensed professional counselor Alice traveled to all seven continents, over 75 countries, and all but three states. Grandmother traveled with all five of her grandchildren to New York, Alaska, and England at various times. There was never a new adventure, challenge, food or project that Alice would back down from. Her experiences include, but were not limited to, riding camels in front of the Pyramids, fishing for Paraná in the Amazon, riding elephants in Thailand, receiving Mass at St. Peters Cathedral in the Vatican, riding hot air balloons over Ayers Rock in Australia, feeding penguins in the South Pole, watching the sunrise at Stonehenge, or sitting through thousands of ballgames. In her 77 years, Mother got her money's worth. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkhart. Mrs. Spacek is survived by her husband of 59 years, Milton Ray Spacek of Elkhart, two sons: Milton Lawrence Spacek of Elkhart and companion, Trudie Crutchfield of Beaumont, Randall Scott Spacek and wife, Wendy of Beaumont; and a daughter, Melody Layne Spacek Farrow and husband, Joe of Elkhart; and grandchildren: Scarlett Ray Spacek, Jennifer Jay Spacek, Hunter Gage Spacek, Philip Joe Farrow, III,and Tyler Ray Farrow. Pallbearers will be Larry Spacek, Randy Spacek, Joe Farrow, Trey Farrow, Tyler Farrow, Hunter Spacek, Wayne Curry, John Adair, and Brandon Crowder.
