Rev. Dr. Amos Landry, Jr., departed this life on Monday, July 23, after a short illness. Rev. Landry, founded the Shiloh M.B. Church of Beaumont, was a former Pastor of the East Mt. Olive and New Light Baptist Church, and The People's Institutional Baptist Church of Seattle, WA, where he retired from his Pastoral duties in 2010. Rev. Landry was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, an Educator, active community leader, and life-long learner; holding various degrees. Visitation will be Saturday, July 28, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. until funeral 10:00 a.m., at House of Prayer Baptist Church, 3350 Washington Blvd., Beaumont. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rev. Landry is survived by his wife, Dian Landry; daughters, LaShonda Landry and Monica Alfred; sons, Devin (LaShonda) Alfred and Byron (Tanner) Alfred; five much adored grandchildren; sister, Bobbie Henry; brother, Alford (Dang) Landry; spiritual daughter, Valerie Coleman; sister-in-laws, Rose and Ruth; and a host of relatives and friends. Rev. Landry was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Landry Sr. and Mary L. Landry; sister, Lula M. King; and four brothers- William, Garfield, Joseph, and Leroy Landry.
