1922 - 2016 Bernard Bud Proper, 93, a longtime resident of the area, died on Monday, March 7, 2016. He was born on April 1, 1922, to Oren Proper and Carrie Rose Aubuchon. Bernard was a veteran of the United States Army and the United States Navy during WWII. He was a retiree of the United Sates Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District. Bud also served many years as a volunteer in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was an ordained minister and a 33 Degree Mason. Bud was also involved in many religious charities. Survivors include his daughter, Karen Proper Beard and her husband, Fred, of Beaumont; daughter-in-law, Nancy Proper of Arlington; grandchildren, Bernard Proper, Jason Proper, Glenn Gary, Timothy Arnold, and Kelley Arnold Wade. Bud is preceded in death by his wife, May Agnes Kelley Proper; sisters, Bernice and Maxine, son, Robert Alfred Proper; daughter, Zeta May Arnold; grandchildren, Mark Proper and Kenny Arnold. Bud was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and great-great-great grandfather of a blended family of many. His tribe was fruitful.
