Bessie Lee (Clark) Windham, 96, of Orange, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Calder Woods nursing home in Beaumont, Texas. Becky was born August 23, 1916, in China, Texas, to the late J.B. Clark Sr. and Anna (Daniel) Clark. Bessie Lee and her late husband, Slim Windham raised their family on a rice farm in Nome, Texas, and were long time members of China Baptist Church, where they made sure their children were brought up under Christian guidance. She was always involved with the kids, where ever their interest led them. She is preceded in death by husband, Julius Alton Slim Windham; parents, J.B. Clark Sr. and Anna Clark; sisters, Vallie Sherman, Beatrice Bean; brother, J.B. Clark Jr.; and son, Terrell Dean Windham of Hartville, Ohio. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Martha Lynn (Windham) Wood of New Haven, Connecticut.; sons, Larry Nelson Windham and wife, Jann of Beaumont, Texas; Jerry Alton Windham and wife, Beth Ann of Orange, Texas. Grandchildren include, Dean Windham and wife, Angela, David Windham and wife, Joni, Kathy Hadinger and husband, Mark, Wendi McCarver and husband, Randall, Jim Windham and wife, Dee Dee, Julie Ayala and husband, Kenneth, Blaine Windham, Jennifer Windham, and Karen Wood; daughter-in-law, Marilyn (Windham) Goodman and husband, Hap; great-grand children, Elizabeth Shakour and husband, Derek, Keith Skala and wife, Jackie, Lauryn Windham, Lyndsey Windham, Kelsey McCarver, Katy McCarver, Jonathan Hadinger, Morgan Hadinger, Brandon Hadinger, Austin Simon, Emma Windham, Anna Clair Windham, Avery Windham, Elle Windham, Lauren Windham, Laren Windham, Abby Windham, and Olivia Windham; and one great-great grandchild, Avery Shakour. A Special Thanks to All the Caregivers over the Years… Amy, Brinda, Claudia, Candy, Gail, Ida, Mihelle, Peaches, Katherine, Wanda, Stephene and Annette. All staff at Calder Woods, (Thanks). A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, September 7, 2012, from 1:00- 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
