February 28, 1943 - March 26, 2013 Billie Jean Towry, 70, of the Edge Community, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. A time to visit with family is scheduled from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, at Hillier Funeral Home, with a graveside service on Friday, March 29, at 1:00 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake, Texas. Billie was born on February 28, 1943, in Lufkin, and grew up in Sour Lake, Texas. She was a resident of the Bryan area for 35 years, working as a nurse in private practice. Upon her retirement from Brazos Valley Women's Center, Billie enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and hunting. Billie was preceded in death by her father, William Duncan; her mother, Ellen Dugat; and her brother, Asa Duncan. Family survivors include her husband, Dick Towry; daughters, Jan McGee of Edge and Belle Conrad of Normangee; and grandchildren, Jared McGee, and Wacey and Shane Conrad. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Billie's memory to Rosedale Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 549, Sour Lake, Texas 77671.
