1936 - 2014 Bonnie Jean McDaniel, 78, of Beaumont, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Her funeral services will begin at 2pm, Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Apostolic Church in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm until service time. Officiating will be Pastor Jonathan Elms. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Beaumont. Pallbearers will be Steven McDaniel, Tim McDaniel, Forrest McDaniel, Shay Long, Ryan McDaniel, and Darren Lyman. Honorary Pallbearers: Tim Matherne and Corey Lecompte. Bonnie was born on January 13, 1936 to Fred Sutton and Ida (Lavata) Sutton. Following her high school graduation, she attended The Apostolic Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she then met her husband, Andrew Jackson McDaniel, Jr. Mrs. Bonnie McDaniel raised her family in the church and her children hold fond memories of hearing their mother's daily prayers when they would arrive home from school. Mrs. McDaniel was a devoted homemaker and former Sunday School Superintendent / Church Secretary at Hope, Arkansas' United Pentecostal Church. She ministered and witnessed to many others by writing personal letters which would include bible verses to illustrate the point and to present her heart to others. Mrs. McDaniel also would spend her time writing letters to business owners, Mayors, and school superintendents who had tattered American flags flying; asking them to retire the flags saying, If you're going to fly the colors of this great country then you must fly them proudly. Bonnie McDaniel is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Sutton and Ida (Lavata) Sutton, beloved sister, Christine Sunberg, and her husband, Andrew Jackson McDaniel, Jr. She is survived by her three sons, Forrest McDaniel and wife Tina of Beaumont, Tim McDaniel and wife Cassie of Houston, Steven McDaniel and wife, Gaye of Alvin; and daughter, Sharon Long of Austin. Bonnie is also survived by her grandchildren, Shay Long, Heather Lyman and husband Darren Lyman of Austin, Bonnie Long, Cheyenne Long, Ryan McDaniel and wife Karen of Austin , Joana McDaniel, Tim Matherne and wife Jamie of Houma Louisiana, Corey LeCompte and wife Meghan of Houma Louisiana; and great grandchildren, Tanner and Chesney who were her heart.
