1968 - 2016 Brian Keith Pinckney, 48, of Harker Heights, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016. He was born in Groves, on March 20, 1968, to Martha Lyday and Robert Pinckney, and raised in Southeast Texas. Brian was a graduate of Hamshire-Fannett High School. He entered the United States Army in March of 1989, where he attended the Military Police Basic and Advanced Training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. He had attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. As a CID agent, he deployed to Bosnia in 2008-2009, in support of Operation Joint Forge. He also deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 2004-2005 and 2008-2009. While deployed to Iraq, he was assigned at Mosul, Balad Air Base, and COB Adder, Tallil. Brian was a 2002 graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice History and an Associate Degree in International Studies. He received his Master of Business Administration Degree from University of Phoenix. He received numerous awards and decorations to include: Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorius Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement medal, among others. Brian was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed gardening, reading and spending quality time with his family. Brian was a great husband, father and soldier who loved his family and his country. Many of Brian's co-workers described him as an exceptional leader, a man of great character, who served his country with the highest level of dignity, honor, and trust. He never backed down from a challenge and always gave 100 percent effort in everything he did. Brian is survived by his wife, Ji Hae Pinckney; children, Angeline Rinehart and her husband, John Rinehart and Jason Pinckney; father, Robert Pinckney; mother, Martha Lyday; and brother, Corey Pinckney. A funeral service for Brian Keith Pinckney will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Broussard's, 134 West Buccaneer Drive Winnie, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
