Carl F. Davis. 81, of Bon Wier, Texas, died on Aug. 29, 2012, in Portland, Oregon. He was born on March 29, 1931, in Newton County, and had lived in Bon Wier since 1976. He was retired from Temple Inland as an electrician and was a Pentecostal Minister. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and was an active member of the Bon Wier Fire Dept. He is survived by his sons, Roddy Davis and wife, Jackie of Kirbyville, Tx. and Tom Davis and wife, Leona of St. Helens, Or.; sister, Dorothy Jean Davis of Newton; grandchildren, T. J. Davis, Raymond Davis, and Brad Davis; and great grandchildren, Allicia, Chad, Olivia, Jamison, and Emersyn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Davis; parents, Carl Vernon and Mercedes Hughes Davis; grandchildren, Travis Davis and Ryan Davis; brothers, Billy Ray Davis and Donald Duck Davis; and sister, Lameda Jane Clair. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at the Bon Wier United Pentecostal Church, with funeral services to be on Saturday, Sep. 11, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., at the church, with burial to follow at Davis Cemetery in the Fawil Community, in Newton County.
