Carolyn Ford Nichols of Beaumont, Texas passed away on April 18, 2013 at Premier Transitional Care in Dallas, TX; she was 79. She never met a stranger but was a friend to all--unselfishly helping anyone she could, whenever possible without question. Not only was Carolyn blessed with her father's incredible sense of humor, but was also known for her extraordinary compassion and an ability to make the most of life in any situation. Carolyn was born in Beaumont, Texas on August 31, 1933 to Iris & William Ford. She grew up in Beaumont, graduating from Beaumont High School in 1951 before attending Baylor University. She is survived by her three children Carol Leach (Wichita, KS), Raymond Turner (Fullerton, CA) and William Turner (Dallas, TX); Six Grandchildren, one Great Grandson, numerous wonderful friends and Muffet, her feline companion. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Iris Grantham Ford and William Hamilton Ford. The family asks that memorials be made to the SPCA of Southeast Texas, the
and Alcoholics Anonymous. On a less solemn note, knowing that Carolyn is an adventurous and fun-loving soul, we ask that you also recall to mind one humorous moment, or maybe ten or twenty, that you spent with her and send her off with a cheer -- which she so deserves. To Carolyn, our mom! Honoring her wishes to be cremated, plans are pending for celebrations of her life for those most close to her.
