Charles Leon Cherry Bones passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, in his residence. He was a native of Gary, Texas and lived in Westlake. Leon was an insulator as well as a member of the Local #112. He enjoyed racing including stock car, sprint and drag racing as well as building his own cars and restoring antique cars. He was an avid duck hunter and loved listening to George Jones and drinking coffee with his friends. Survivors include his loving wife Nancy and five daughters, Brenda Sullivan and husband Jimmy, Debbie Thibodeaux and husband Audie, Jane Young and husband Mark, Vicki Cherry and Donna Ingram and husband Mike; four sisters, Mildred Davis, Kathryn Crocker, Nelwyn Rutledge and Alice Gorrell; seven grandchildren, Robert Sargent, Jr., Ashley Sargent, Cody Sargent, Matthew Granger, Michael Thibodeaux, Emily Ingram and Chris Thibodeaux; five great grandchildren; special friend, Harry Hoben and many other special friends. His funeral will be at 2p.m. Sunday, January, 12, 2014 in Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Finers Cryer will officiate. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is from 4p.m. to 9p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Arc of Greater Beaumont, 700 North St. Suite Q, Beaumont, TX 77701.
