1931 - 2015 Charles T. Tommy Green was born November 13, 1931, in Beaumont, to Charles C. and Beulah M. Green. He died in Houston on April 14, 2015, of cancer. He graduated from St. Anthony's High School in 1949. He played on a basketball team at the YMCA with Tommy Leicht and James Fiorenza and on a hardball team, which both won the city championship. He joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and served honorably for four years. While playing for the Andrew's Air Force baseball team, he was invited to a tryout camp with the Baltimore Orioles. Tommy graduated from Lamar University with a BBA degree. One of his fondest memories was playing on a semi-pro team sponsored by Broussard's Mortuary called the Broussard Blues. He worked for three oil companies before he started his own business called Pearland Industries. In 1961, he married Kay St.Germain of Houston. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Jennifer Green Burns and Alison Green, and they were married until Kay's death in 1992. Upon retirement he remained an avid sports fan of the Houston teams. He is survived by his two daughters, his son-in-law, Brian Burns and grandsons, Brennan and Colin Burns. There will be a family service in Weimar, TX. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution, in his name, to The Dominican Nuns of Houston at 6501 Alameda, Houston, Texas, 77021.
