Clifford Allen Tibbetts, Jr., 33, died on Sunday afternoon, June 16, 2013, at the Neches River near Silsbee, Texas. Born October 10, 1979, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas, Cliff was the son of Shannon Hart and Clifford Allen Tibbetts, Sr. He attended Tyrrell Elementary in Griffing Park and Edison Middle School where he excelled. After graduation in 1998 from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas, Cliff studied for two years at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Georgia. Cliff worked in Cochran, Panama City, Beaumont, and Port Arthur, Texas, before enrolling at Weeks Welding School, Nederland, Texas, where he was a student at the time of his death. As a youth, Cliff studied piano and shared gifts for music and art with his family and friends. He wrote and read widely all his life and enjoyed lively discussion. Cliff was an avid golfer, spending many happy hours with friends on the course. He loved animals and was a deeply compassionate person. Cliff saw and appreciated the beautiful in God's world, and he was blessed with a sensitive spirit. Easily hurt, he easily forgave. Loving and giving, Cliff not only saw the flowers, he wanted to plant and take care of them. In Cliff's life, one realizes the truth that one does not have to have to achieve perfection to be perfectly loved. Cliff's paternal grandparents are Althea Dareen Scott and Kelly Harvey Tibbetts, of Cayman Brac, Port Arthur, Texas, late of Panama City, Florida. His maternal grandparents are Leonora Lanier Shannon, Jeffersonville, Georgia, and Angus Hart, Jr. of Derbyshire, England, late of Jeffersonville, Georgia. In addition to his parents and maternal grandmother, Cliff is survived by his brother Kelly Hart Tibbetts of Cypress, Texas, his great-aunt Barbara Hart Smith, his aunts Dareen Tibbetts Mattke and Alma Tibbetts Newell; his uncles Ansley Tibbetts and Donald Tibbetts, and much-loved cousins. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, Grammier-Oberle, 39th Street, Port Arthur, Texas. Graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 25 at 11:00 AM at the Jeffersonville City Cemetery, Jeffersonville, Georgia. The family requests donations in Cliff's memory to the First Baptist Church of Jeffersonville, Georgia in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be offered at:
