1936 - 2014 Cloteal Albert, 78, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital, Beaumont, Texas. She was born on August 31, 1936, in Chandler, Texas to Fred and Bettie Lemons, and had been a resident of the Beaumont area for over 54 years. She attended Butler College where she excelled in her passion of singing as a soprano in the a cappella choir. She graduated with honors (Summa Cum Laude) with a B.S. in English and Music from Butler College in Tyler, Texas. She was an educator in the Beaumont Independent School District for 20 plus years. While working as an educator, she obtained a M.Ed. in Counseling and Guidance from Prairie View A & M University and became a certified Educational Diagnostician. During her pursuit of education, she pursued her faith whole-heartedly with tireless, dedication and faithfulness. She was a dutiful, member of the Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church for 54 years and held several leadership roles: Deaconess, BFS Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, Women's Ministry Leader, Prayer Ministry Leader, and Evangelism Team Member. She enjoyed singing, family-time, and healthy eating and regular exercise. Those family members who preceded her in transition from mortality to immortality include: three brothers, Harlee Lemons, Donald Lemons, and Alsaiah Lemons; sisters, Delilah Lemons, Linda Louise Lemons, Freddie Mae Mitchell. Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, J.W. Albert, of Beaumont, Texas; daughters, Dr. Bettye Lois Grigsby of Rosharon, Texas; Dr. DeEadra Florence Albert-Green (Gary) of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Sierrah Marie Grigsby of Ann Arbor, MI and Fallon Rene Green of Austin, Texas; brothers, Hoover (Ella) Lemons of Dallas, Texas and John (Dorothy) Lemons of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Genell (Ire Lee) Cofer of Chandler, Texas and Beverly (Charles) George of New Orleans, LA; numerous nieces and nephews. She was an inspiration and joy to all who knew her. Her homegoing service will be 12:58 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church of Beaumont, 710 IH 10 East Frontage Road, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that your donations be given to your local church's scholarship fund.
