1926 - 2014 Delbert Wynn Morgan, 88, of Groves, Texas went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2014. Delbert was born August 1, 1926 in Crowley, Louisiana to Jesse O. Morgan, Sr. and Lavenia Shepherd Morgan. He has been a resident of Groves since 1952 and member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. He was a graduate from McNeese State College and Lamar University. Delbert retired as a Mechanical Engineer from Texaco Refinery after 38 years of service. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a U.S. Army Air Force World War II veteran. Delbert was an avid golfer and played at Babe Zaharias and Wildwood golf courses with two holes in one. He was an organist and pianist for 69 years for several churches. He was also a talented mechanic and carpenter. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Stella Bett Wells Morgan of Groves, TX; two sons, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and wife Rebecca of Lufkin, TX, Daniel Patrick Morgan and wife Rebel of Frisco, TX; two brothers, Jesse O. Morgan, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana, Karlos Morgan and wife Mary of Raytown, MO; two grandchildren, Cody Wynn Morgan and Landri Cate Morgan both of Rincon, GA; and step-grandchild, Piper McRae of Frisco, TX. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Charles Stuart officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
