Dolores Brocato 1934-2016 Dolores Brocato, 81, of Beaumont died Monday, May 30, 2016. She was born on October 26, 1934, in Beaumont, TX, to Jhovita Estros Brocato and Sam Brocato, Sr. She graduated from Beaumont High School in 1954, graduated from Lamar Business College and began her career working for the Reed Co. in Beaumont, then moved to Houston where she operated Brocato Secretarial and Bookkeeping Services, setting up bookkeeping systems, training employees for oil companies and handling the personal finances and social schedules for several members of Houston's elite. During this time she participated in many volunteer organizations, including the American Legion and the Museum of Fine Arts, and traveled widely, even winning a Caribbean cruise in 1985. She also participated in fund-raising endeavors for the founding of St. Elizabeth Hospital of Beaumont. Survivors include her brother, Dr. Charles S. Brocato of Beaumont, and his wife Kathryn. She was preceded in death by her mother, her father and her brother, Sammy Brocato, Jr. who died in Korea in 1950. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
