Donald Wayne Drinkard Donald Wayne Drinkard, 61, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 13, 2012, after a courageous fight with cancer. Don was born October 1, 1950, in Texas City, Texas, to B.M. and Sue Drinkard. He graduated from Beaumont High School in 1968 and then went on to attend the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in the dental field in 1976. Don practiced general dentistry in Beaumont from 1976 until 1983, where he then moved to Galveston, TX, for four years of residency in Oral Surgery at UTMB. He practiced oral surgery in Paris, TX, and then later in Corpus Christi, TX, as a partner at Corpus Christi Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons from 1989 through March 2012. Don was a longtime member of Yorktown Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, where he served on the church's long-range planning committee and Yorktown Baptist Academy school board. He was also involved in Grace Air Ministries, flying to Mexico to do cleft palate surgeries on children. Don was an avid fisherman, a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa. He was a loving son and brother, a dedicated Christian, and a loyal friend. He is preceded in death by his son, Travis. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janet; his son, Mark, and daughter- in-law, Sara; his daughter, Michelle; and grandchildren Lucy, Nate, Cole; as well as his parents; and brothers, David and Tommy. Memorial Service will be held at Yorktown Baptist Church, located at 5025 Yorktown Blvd, Corpus Christi, on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at 2:00 p.m..
