Doris Marie Bowie , 81, of Beaumont, TX, departed this life on Thursday, December 19, 2013. Funeral services are under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowie will lie in state from noon until 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Mercy Funeral Home, followed by a wake from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the church. Her love and memories will remain with her children, Jessie L. Bowie, Jr. (Chris), Leander, Texas and Shelia Bowie of Houston Texas; sister Ruby Williams of Flint Michigan; brother John Lee Wrighting, Jr. of Minden Texas; four grandchildren, Brandi Price, Brandon Bowie (Kim), Gene Holbert II, and Fabyana Rowley (Shannon); 8 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Also surviving is long time special friend and sister, Dorothy Green. Additional special sisters left to mourn her passing are Clara Oliver and Mary Lee Comeaux.
