When he was eight years old, he moved to Round Rock, Texas, with his six siblings, and lived there until age eighteen, when he graduated from Round Rock High School and returned to Beaumont, Texas. Douglas served in the United States Navy and while living in Beaumont, he worked off-shore in the Louisiana area for numerous years. Douglas was preceded in death by parents, J.R. and Jacqueline Baker Mancil and brothers, Jody and Jesse Mancil of Beaumont, Texas. Those left to honor his memory are his son, Michael Mancil of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; brothers, Fred Mancil and wife, Perri of Marble Falls, Texas, Ken Mancil of Conroe, Texas; sisters, Billie Jean Mancil of Georgetown, Texas, and Mary Ann Chastain and husband, JD of Waco, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
