Druann Wiley, 76, of Beaumont, passed away after a brief illness Wednesday, May 22, 2013, in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on December 10, 1936, to Beulah Johnigan Wiley and Andrew Parks Wiley, Jr. and lived all of her life in Beaumont. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Anna Mae Bishop and her husband Brooks; brother, Andrew Parks Wiley, III; and stepsister, Mary Lynn Lee and her husband Dick. Druann was a faithful member of Central City Baptist Church and devoted her life to serving her family, friends, coworkers, and sisters and brothers in Christ with her many God-given talents. She used those talents in the roles of Pianist, Organist, Sunday School Teacher, Church Treasurer, and WMU Director. She mirrored Christs love and brought joy to everyone she met. Her professional skills and leadership were evident when she began her career as a court stenographer. For twenty years, she was a legal secretary for the late Howell Cobb at the law firm of Orgain, Bell, and Tucker. In 1985 when Howell Cobb was appointed as Honorable Federal Judge for the Eastern District of Texas, Druann worked as his Judicial Secretary/Assistant for another twenty-two years. She also served as Court Administrator for Judge Crone of the U. S. District Court. As an active member of the National Association of Legal Secretaries, Druann was honored as Secretary of the Year in 1980 and later honored as a fifty year member of NALS. She also served as a leader in the community through Altrusa International, Inc. Whether through church, career or professional organizations, Druanns generous spirit and servant-heart inspired all who knew her. Druann is survived by her nieces, Vikki Lowrey and her husband, James; and Karen Pfeifer and her husband, Dennis; nephews, J. Brooks Bishop, III and his wife, Sallie; and Wayland Wiley; cousin, David Smith and his wife, Susie; and stepsister, Jerry Dickson and her husband, Gene. Also left to cherish her memory are many other extended family and close beloved friends. A gathering of Miss Wiley's family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Central City Baptist Church, 1825 Franklin St., Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
