Reverend Duncan Parish, 72, of Colmesneil, passed away, Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Jasper, Texas surrounded by family after having a brief encounter with pancreatic cancer. Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville from 5 - 8 p.m. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Woodville United Methodist Church. Reverend Parish was born December 1, 1940. He was a retired minister with Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). At the time of his death he was a Lions Club International District Governor for MD-2S1 (East Texas). He had a passion for Lions International, its goals and purposes. He was especially interested in the Texas Lions Camp for Crippled Children in Kerrville, Texas. He was an amateur actor, and cartoonist. He was a man of God that will be greatly missed because of the many lives he has touched. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dr. Mary Parish of Colmesneil & Jasper; sons, James Boyd Lee Parish & wife, Tina of Spring, and Thomas Mark Parish of Knoxville, TN; daughters, Lisa Nicole Parish-Butler & husband, Lee of Austin, and Audrey Bowlin & husband, Michael of Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by his brother, Joel Lamar Parish & wife, Barbara of Austin; his sister, Dorothy Karen Parish-Kenty & husband, Marcel of Austin, and has ten grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Texas Lions Camp, P.O.Box 290247, Kerrville, TX 78029.
