Earline Pansy Perkins Broussard, 87 of Beaumont, Tx passed away on May 28, 2013. Earline was born on August 9, 1925 in Newton, Tx to Jack and Maude Perkins. Earline married Paul Broussard on January 12, 1946 in Beaumont. Earline was a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Beaumont, Tx since 1946 after she and Paul married. After marrying, she worked as the head switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Beaumont. Earline enjoyed spending time with her family, going shopping, getting manicures and going on trips to her hometown of Newton. Having experienced life in the Great Depression and World War II, she was augmented and strengthened by these experiences to save her best fight for the final months of her life. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Paul Broussard Sr.; her children, Paul Broussard Jr. and his wife, Judy of Beaumont and Myron Broussard of Liberty; her granddaughter, Augusta Broussard of Beaumont and her sister, Nellie Derese of Newton, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Maude Perkins and her brother Raymond Bo Perkins. The visitation will be on Thursday, May 30th from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 305 Houston Street, Newton, TX. Her funeral will be on Friday, May 31st at 12:00 Noon also at Smith Funeral Home. Her burial will follow at Griggs Cemetery in Stringtown, TX in Newton County. Those serving as pallbearers will be Paul Broussard Jr., Myron Broussard, Pat Broussard, Tommy Wray, Joe Wray and Charlie Crabbe. The family of Earline Broussard wishes to thank Dr. John Fowler and Dr. Srinivas Kodali for their kindness and suuport. The family would also like to thank the nurses and aids on the Oncology Unit of St. Elizabeth Hospital. Special thanks to Fr. Stephen McCrate for his ministry and support during this time as God and family were paramount in her life.
