1927-2015 Edwin Earl Stagg, 87, of Toledo Bend died on February 8, 2015 at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont Texas. He was born on September 6, 1927 and lived in the Nederland / Port Arthur area where he was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for a number of years. He lived on Toledo Bend Lake for the past thirty years and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he was a deacon and secretary of treasure.. Mr. Stagg worked and retired from Texaco Terminal in Port Arthur after thirty eight years of service. He was also a United States Veteran of the Merchant Marines during World War II and the US Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Toledo Bend Fire Department where he served as the secretary of treasure. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty one years, Gloria Batterbee Stagg. He is also survived by his three sons, Doyle Wayne Stagg and Sandi of Ava, Missouri. Dale Allen Stagg and wife Shirley of Nederland Tx., and Keith Stagg and wife Melissa of Deer Park, TX. Edwin also leaves behind a loving sister, Eula Dugas of Houston, TX, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Edwin is proceeded in death by his parents Edwin E. Stagg, Sr., Viola McGee Stagg and one brother, Ray Stagg. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Burkeville from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Toledo Bend Cemetery near Toleda Bend Lake.
