Services for Elaine Short Holland, of Nogalus Prairie, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in the Calvary Baptist Church of Nogalus Prairie with Bro. James Whittlesey officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. She was born on October 27, 1952 to Frank and Janet Short, Jr. of Nederland, Texas and she went to be with her Lord on January 28, 2013. Mrs. Holland married Kenneth Holland of Nederland on May 13, 1971. Five children were born to this union; Kenneth Jr., Cassie, Kevin, Kristopher and Kyle. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Kenneth Holland of Nogalus Prairie; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Bridget Holland, Jr. of Port Arthur; daughter and son-in-law, Cassie and Dean Mayfield of Sour Lake; son, Kevin Holland of Nederland; son and daughter-in-law, Kristopher and Brandi Holland of Nederland; son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Mary Holland of Lumberton; 8 grandchildren: Josie Elaine Moore, Stormie Moore and Klay Mayfield of Sour Lake, Katie Holland and Carlie Holland of Nederland, Bella Holland and Brent Holland of Nederland, Addison Holland of Lumberton; 4 step-grandchildren: Savannah Gilcrease and Arissa Gilcrease of Port Arthur and Dail Mayfield and Cameron Mayfield of Port Neches. Other survivors include brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Rhonda Short III of Friendswood, brother and sister-in-law, Stephan and Janet Short of League City, brother, Brian Short of Nederland, and sister, Cecile Turner of Brazoria; sisters-in-law, Anita Howard of Nederland and Cindy Parker of Cypress; mother-in-law, Jo Holland of Nederland; numerous nieces and nephews and a wide host of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Janet Short, Jr.,her grandparents, Frank and Angel Short and Levest and Lena Guillot, and father-in-law, Chubby Holland. Pallbearers are Kenneth Holland, Jr., Kevin Holland, Kristopher Holland, Kyle Holland, Dean Mayfield and Dennis Holmes. Honorary pallbearers are Klay Mayfield and Brent Holland. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Calvary Baptist Church of Nogalus Prairie.
