1920 - 2014 Ellen Louise Haire Odom, 94, died, Friday, December 5, 2014 at Rosewood II Assisted Living in Jasper, TX. Funeral service will be 2:00p.m. Monday, December 8th at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville officiated by Rev. Wayne Wiltshire and Rev. Robert Hargrave. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 prior to the service. Burial will be at Kirbyville Cemetery. She was born November 20, 1920 in Spurger, TX to the union of Cecil Bronson Haire and Sarah Hesper Bingham Haire. Louise was a 1940 graduate of Kirbyville High where she enjoyed playing basketball. Louise resided in Bridge City, TX many years where she was an avid Big Red fan. She enjoyed mowing the lawn, crocheting, needle point, and a good game of 42. She especially loved senior adult activities with friends of First Baptist Church Bridge City where she was a long time member. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons; two brothers and three sisters. Her husband of 67 years, Lavon, died in 2012. She is survived by daughter Judy Chandler and husband David of Lake Sam Rayburn; granddaughter Ashley Sanders and husband Jeremy of Bridge City; brothers in law, John A. Martindale and wife Robbie of Jasper, and Prentice R. Odom and wife Ann of Woodville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
