Emmit B. Parks, 83, of Nederland, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on March 27, 1930, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, to Ida Williams Parks and Frank Parks. Emmit was a United States Army veteran and retired from Dupont in the maintenance department following over thirty years of service. Survivors include his children, Kathy Neichoy of Beaumont and Benny Parks of Nederland; grandchildren, Samantha Hodgins of Jasper and Jason Parks of Nederland; great-grandchildren, Cael Parks and Connor Parks, both of Nederland; sisters, Mae Nelson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ruth Brown of Henryetta, Oklahoma, and Christine Hobbs of Pasadena; and brother, Henry Parks of Bixby, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nedra Parks; and brother, Frank Parks, Jr. A gathering of Mr. Parks' family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014, at Broussard's, 505 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Broussard's, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
