1924 - 2015 Escar Wayne Davis, Sr., 90, a seventy-year resident of Beaumont, passed away on Friday February 13, 2015 in Beaumont. Mr. Davis was born in Mt. Carmel, Texas on September 7, 1924 to his parents Lewis Franklin and Zona Minyard Davis, who preceded him in death. He was a Private First Class in the United States Army during WWII, after living several years of his life in Colmesneil, he came to Beaumont and along with his wife, opened and operated Beaumont Frame and Front End. He enjoyed attending Calvary Baptist Church and was known for extreme loyalty to all his employees. During his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a huge Astros & Dallas Cowboy's fan. He was very faithful and loved all of his family and was present for his grandchildren's births and life events. He loved his loyal sidekick Mr. Wilson who went everywhere with him. He was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence, Woodrow, Jay, and sisters Faye, Beatrice, Mary Lou, Iva, and Willie Mae. Survivors include his loving wife, Josephine Davis of Beaumont; daughters, Linda Tinkle and husband J.W. of Beaumont, Joyce Pierce and husband John of Lumberton, Margaret King and husband Mickey of Brandon, MS.; Son, Escar Wayne Bubba Davis, Jr. of Lumberton; sisters, Margarette Wood of Nederland and Vesta Worthey of Woodville; fourteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the family receiving friends starting at 1:00 PM. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
