Evelt A. Coleman Jr. was called home by our Lord to glory; one of his soldiers in Christ on June 23, 2013. Evelt A. Coleman Jr. was born on December 15, 1941 to the late Rev. Evelt A. Coleman Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Frazier Coleman of Kountze, TX. Evelt graduated in 1960 from Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, TX. He received his Bachelors of Arts in Accounting from Prairie View A&M University in 1965. During his years at Prairie View A&M University he was a part of the 1963-64 PVAMU SWAC Championship Football Team. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his daughters Mary Coleman Simms (Kenneth Simms) of Ladera Ranch, CA and Margaret Ann Coleman of Houston, TX. His grandchildren, Donnovan Simms, Dominique Simms of Ladera Ranch, CA; Malik Coleman, Joy Selman of Houston, TX and his former spouse Carol J. Coleman of Houston, TX, step mother Billie M. Brown, and Aunt Alvis Dosey of Linden, TX. He is also survived by his brothers; Lester Coleman (Kountze, TX), Harwell Coleman (Dallas, TX), George Coleman (Jasper, TX), Marvin Coleman(Woodville, TX), and Donald Coleman (Lula Coleman) (Woodville, TX); his sisters, Mary Coleman Adams(Kountze, TX) Shirley Coleman Simon (Kountze, TX) and Sharon Neal (Texarkana, TX). He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at Green Pine Baptist Church in Kountze, TX on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 5-8pm. The Homegoing Services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 100 W. Monroe, Kountze, TX at 1pm. Final Resting place will be at the Trinity Valley Cemetery in Kountze, TX .
