1937 - 2014 Floyd Joseph Lanclos died on June 17, 2014. He was born July 18, 1937, in Opelousas, LA to Yves and LouElla Lanclos. There will be a private family burial. He joined the Air Force after finishing the 11th grade. Floyd was stationed at Greenham Common Air Force Base in England. He moved to Lumberton in 1976 where he opened Air-Tech Service until he was injured with a broken back in an ultralight airplane crash. After he healed, he began building experimental aircraft. Floyd was an independent spirit who was very much loved by his family. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Chris Lanclos, and fiancée, Kristy Thompkins, of Lumberton; sisters, Betty Horton and husband, Oscar, of Cusetta, GA, and Shirley Scuderi and husband, Mike, of Lake Charles, LA; sister-in-law, Donna Lanclos of Atlanta, GA; three nieces and five nephews. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Carol Lanclos.
