923 - 2014 Francis K. Boyd, 91, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on June 22, 2014. Fran was born on June 4, 1923, in Wellsburg, West Virginia, and was a World War II veteran and a proud and patriotic American. After the war, Fran worked for American Standard in Buffalo, New York. After retiring, Fran became a caregiver for two close friends in Buffalo. One of Fran's favorite pastimes was telling stories. In 2000, he moved with his wife, Helen, to Beaumont, to be closer to his daughters. Survivors include daughters, Mary Lou Lucenti and her husband, Tony, of Beaumont and Reva Raschke and her husband, Robert, of Houston; grandson, Erick Lucenti and his wife, Codi; great-granddaughters, Kelsay, Kayla, and Kensi, all of League City; sister, Jeanne Huntington and her husband, Bill; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Fran was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Helen, in October of 2013; and by his parents; his two brothers; and three sisters. Mr. Boyd's family and friends will gather for a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1350 North 23rd Street, Beaumont, Texas. A visitation will immediately follow the service in the church parlor. His committal was at Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont. Final resting place for Mr. Boyd will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, New York, at a later date. The family would like to express their special thanks to the staff of Emeritus Dowlen Oaks Assisted Living who loved and cared for him every day; and to the staff of Altus Hospice for their gentle care during Fran's final days. The caregivers at these two facilities are true angels. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1350 North 23rd Street, Beaumont, Texas 77706 or to Altus Hospice Care, 370 North 10th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77702.
