Our beloved Francis Thomas, age 61, of Beaumont, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, June, 18, 2012, surrounded in love by her husband and children. She was the youngest child born to Gertrude and Joseph Johnson in Houston, on March 2, 1951. Francis married her high school sweetheart, Johnnie A. Thomas, and together they built a beautiful home and a lovely family in Beaumont. She was an active member at Westgate Church of Christ, working with the ladies' ministry, college care package ministry, nursery program, and supporting her husband's role as a church Elder. The love Francis had for God and her family was evident in all she did and the way she genuinely showed she cared for others. Francis enjoyed singing and listening to gospel songs, and spending time reading and studying God's word. She also enjoyed taking care of her beautiful plants and took pleasure in catching God's natural rain water in order to keep them nourished. Survivors include her husband of forty- six years, Johnnie A. Thomas; children, Keith L. Thomas and his wife, Kisha, of New Braunfels; Shereka McLain and her husband, Michael, of Baytown; and Christopher Thomas and his wife, Christina, of Bryan; grandchildren, Kayla Michelle Thomas, Kristofer Hamilton Thomas, Chanse Mikal McLain, Mikehla Chantel McLain, and Cylee Francis Thomas; sister, Joeall Edwards of Houston; brothers, Leonard Johnson, L.D.
