1926 - 2016 Frank Raymond Pool, 90, of Silsbee entered into his Heavenly home Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at Spanish Trail Assisted Living in Silsbee. He was born July 23, 1926 to Oscar M. Pool and Ethel Grant Pool of Buna, Texas in an old church house that his dad was remodeling. The Pool family settled in Buna in 1916 and raised 7 children next door to the Polka Dot house. Frank was in church at First Baptist Buna when Pearl Harbor was bombed in 1941. In 1943, he joined the Navy and served on the USS Windham Bay. On February 11, 1945, he married the love of his life, Sarah Faye Davis. They were married 38 years until her passing in 1983. In 1952, Frank surrendered to the ministry. He moved his family to Marshall, Texas to get his degree in the ministry at East Texas Baptist University. After graduating he moved to Fort Worth to attend Southwestern Theoligical Seminary. Over the years, he pastored churches in Hemphill, Hillsboro, Silsbee, Buna and Bon Wier. After retiring from the ministry he retired from the United States Post Office running routes in Buna, Texas. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ethel Pool; his wife, Sarah; sister, Valley Mae; and brothers, Acie, Jack Ray, Leonard, Austin and George Pool. He is survived by his daughter Johnnie Faye Pool Harper and husband Tom of Houston; daughter Alice Frank Pool Roy and husband William C. Bo of Lumberton; three grandchildren, Stephanie Roy Elsesser and husband Bill of Houston; Tisha Harper Krause of Houston; and Vincent Todd Roy and wife Heather of Cypress, Texas. great grandchildren, William John (Trey) Elsesser III, Sarah Louise Elsesser, Alexandria Faye Krause, Katelyn Ailene Krause, all of Houston; Mary Emma Roy and Austin Roy of Cypress; a sister-in-law, Martha Lee Pool of North Houston; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Spanish Trail Assisted Living in Silsbee, Texas for all their tender, loving care. Thank you to the church family at FBC Buna and the many pastor friends that prayed for him in his final days. What an awesome God we serve! Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Friday, Oct 21, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with funeral services at First Baptist Church in Buna at 1:oo pm Saturday, Oct. 22, with burial to follow at Morse Cemetery in Buna.
