1949 - 2016 Frankie Don Miller Jr. passed away Aug. 8, 2016 surrounded by family. He was born June 13, 1949 in Vidor, Texas to Frankie Don Sr. and Billie Louise (West) Miller. As the son of a Marine, Frank grew up in Vidor, Southern California, North and South Carolina and Puerto Rico. Frank had a deep appreciation of music. He attended Antilles High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he was an organist for The Wild Generation, a popular band who played with such artists as The Dave Clark Five. Frank joined the Marine Corps in 1969 and served his country honorably in the Vietnam War. As the sole surviving son of an officer serving in Vietnam, he proudly chose to join the service. While in Vietnam, he journeyed across war zones to visit his father, Frank Sr., who was also serving at the time. They were together for two weeks before Frank Sr. was redeployed. Frank worked in the oil fields and was co-owner and president of Sky Sign advertising, which he ran with his father. Later in life, he was a private investigator. Frank was a gun enthusiast and avid motorcyclist. He enjoyed riding and made multiple cross-country trips. He attended motorcycle shows and rode with various groups. Frank is survived by his daughter, Katrina Anne Miller of Vidor, his mother, Louise Miller of Vidor, his sister, Donna Gail Harris of Vidor, his niece, LaDonna Michelle Harris of Vidor and his cousin, Alicia Broussard. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Miller Sr. Visitation will take place Thursday, Aug. 11, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Vidor. The interment will follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Haynes, Brian Austin, Brent Biggs, Ed Kinghorn, Steven Quinn, and Charles Masters.
