George Gordon Crawford, Jr., born March 6, 1930, went home to be with the Lord July 28, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, George Gordon Crawford, Sr.; his mother, Ernestine Grunewald Crawford; and his sister, Johnny Mae Poe. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lola Belle Christman Crawford; daughter, Dede Kaye Granado and husband, Juan of Terlingua; son, George Gordon Crawford, III and wife, Joan of Center Point; daughter, Wanda Jean Northrup and husband, Marty of Johnson City, TN; 8 grandchildren and their spouses; 8 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. George served his country as a Marine in the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart. He was a Roustabout in the oil fields and then became an electrician with IBEW Local 479 and worked at that until he retired. He grew up in Kingsville, TX. He lived with his family in Mauriceville, TX until 2002, then moved to Woodville, TX. After retirement, he and Lola traveled. He loved God, Country and family. He will be missed by all. Visitation was held Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Services will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013, 10 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Brother Jack Lewellen. Graveside services will follow at 3 PM at Weesatch Cemetery, Weesatch, TX.
