1928 - 2016 George M. Bruce Broussard, 88, of Beaumont, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Christus Hospital - St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on January 12, 1928, in Loreauville, Louisiana, to Katy Rae Rial Broussard and Thomas Mitchell Broussard. Bruce was a United States Navy veteran, having served in World War II. He was a retired construction contractor. He is survived by his sons, Craig S. Broussard and his wife, Cindy, of Hickory Creek and Randall E. Broussard, of Houston; daughters, Pam Broussard Shelander and her husband, Scott, of Beaumont and Tonya Broussard Lowe and her husband, Thomas; sister, Dorothy Broussard Vercher, of Orange; grandchildren, Clint Broussard, April Lowe, Allison Lowe Washburn, Adam Lowe, A.J. Lowe, Brett Shelander, Brenna Shelander Hansen, Daryann Broussard, and Tarynn Broussard; and great-grandchildren, Alivia Washburn, Jordan Washburn, Ashlynn Cadenas, Doc Hansen, Mikala Broussard, and Noah Broussard. Bruce is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Ellen Langham Broussard; and his parents. A gathering of Mr. Broussard's family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
