George Travis Reeves, 87, of New Caney, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012. Travis was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Mobil Oil in Beaumont after 37 years. Travis was also a Mason. Travis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, LaRue Reeves. He is survived by his son, George T. Reeves, Jr. and wife Kathie; grandchildren, Richard Kent Reeves and Sherrie LeAnn Owens; great-grandchildren, Cody Ray Thornton, Clayton Travis Owens and Rayburn Kent Reeves; brother, Clint Reeves; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Kingwood Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Mount Sylvan Baptist Church, 13073 Texas 110, Tyler, TX 75704. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Lindale Cemetery following the service.
