Gloria Lee Lamb 79, of Beaumont, TX passed away Monday, November 11, 2013. She was born in Palmetto, LA on October 21, 1934 to the late Joe and Camille Lamb. Gloria moved to Beaumont at an early age. She graduated from Hebert High School in 1953 and was a faithful member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church where she served as a Greeter. Gloria worked in retail for many, many years before finding her true calling, working with children. Her jobs included working at DeQueen Elementary in Port Arthur, Beaumont Charter, and Greater Good Hope School. She leaves to cherish precious and fond memories her sons, Rodney (Patsy) Lamb, Jeffrey (Paula) Lamb of Beaumont, TX; niece Reba Lamb of Atlanta, GA, whom she raised as her daughter; brothers- in-law, Toby Duncan of Port Arthur, TX, and Raymond Meyers of Beaumont, TX; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; and her dearest friend, Hilda Malveaux of Beaumont, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Camille Lamb; brother John Sam Lamb; sisters, Lena Duncan, Lula Guidry, Inez Lamb, and Mary Meyers. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church with a viewing from 8 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
