Grace Beard Schroeder

Grace Beard Schroeder, 72, of Port Arthur passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She was born August 30, 1936 to Eda Boullion Beard and Lucion Beard in Crowley, Louisiana. She has been a resident of the Port Arthur area since 1943. Grace was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Groves. Visitation will be on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 6 P.M. to 8 P. M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard Turner, pastor of St. Paul officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Eldridge Leo Beard and Nolan Beard, her son Timothy Schroeder. She is survived by her loving husband Leonard Schroeder of Port Arthur, sons Bobby Schroeder and his wife Cheryl of Plano, Texas, Ernest Schroeder and his wife Sue of Friendswood, Texas and Jeffrey Schroeder of Port Arthur, Texas, along with 5 granddaughters. She is also survived by her sisters Verna Comeaux and her husband Bill of Groves, Texas, Syble Martin of Groves, Texas, Marty Jeanes of Nederland, Texas and Louella Foulch of Groves, Texas, brothers Gene Beard of Port Neches, Texas, Lee Beard of Groves, Texas, Steve Beard and his wife Darlene of Port Acres, Texas as well as a sister-in-law Martha Beard of Bridge City, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews. In Lieu of flowers, family request donations to be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Bell Tower Fund in Memory of Grace.
