Harrel Talmadge Fowler Sr.

Harrel Talmadge Fowler, Sr., 82, of Nederland, TX passed away November 1, 2011, at Christus St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur, TX. He was born August 20, 1929, in Port Neches, TX to the late Henry Thomas and Mable Alice Hoxsey Fowler. He retired from Texaco Oil Refinery, where he was a shift foreman. Funeral services will be held at Melancon's Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, in Nederland, on Friday, November 4, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Dr. David Mahfouz officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, November 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Harrel is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice Simmons Fowler; daughter, Deborah Kay Carrell; and great-grand- son, Whitney Chase Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Gwen Gomez and husband, Gerzain of Nederland; son, Harrel T. Fowler, Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Nederland; grandchildren, Ashley, Torrey, and Whitney Gomez, Tiffany Fowler, Brandy Foster, Ciera Evans, and Danielle Hough; great-grand- children, Britton Gomez, Briley Gomez, Daphne Solis, Chloe Gomez, Bentley Gomez, Mabrey Gomez, Paisley Gomez, Kenzi Hough, and Camden Hough; and sisters, Mary Evans of Kirbyville and Jessie Smith of Houston. Serving as pallbearers are Ashley Gomez, Torrey Gomez, Whitney Gomez, Wesley Evans, Jr., Wesley Evans, Sr., and Jeff Barker. Honorary pallbearer is Britton Gomez.
