Harry Andrew Andy Hougesen, 66 of Newton, Texas died on Feb. 26, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born on June 9, 1947 on the family farm in Stringtown in Newton County and had lived in Newton County all of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a retired operator at chemical plants. He is survived by his son, Tommy Hougesen and wife, Lisa of Sour lake, Tx, brothers, Eddie Hougesen and wife, Charlene and James Ray Hougesen and wife, Linda all of Newton, sister. Norma Hougesen LaBeth of Six Mile, Tx and grandchildren, Kimber Ann Hougesen and Ty Andrew Hougesen. He was preceded in death by his parents; Harry Edren and Annie Bee Eddins Hougesen and brother, Tommy Hougesen. Visitation will be on Saturday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral services will be on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton with burial to follow at the Hougesen Family Cemetery in Stringtown.
