Helen J. "Grannie Jo" Davis, 79, of Thicket, TX, passed away Saturday September 29, 2012. She was born in Fred, TX October 30, 1932. She has resided in Thicket for the last 32 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God of Saratoga. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ike and Brownie Ferguson; son, Bobby Lane Davis; half sisters, Frankie Jordan, Nellie Kibee. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Orville Davis of Thicket; son, Robert Ray Davis of Thicket; daughter, Denise Marcontell and husband Arnold of Thicket; brothers, James Ferguson and wife Cherry of Vidor, Earl Ferguson of Sam Rayburn; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Her family will receive friends at the First Assembly of God of Saratoga on Monday October 1, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday October 2, 2012 at the First Assembly of God of Saratoga, officiated by Reverend Jeff Blizzard and Reverend Frank Aragon.
